The External Connector license enables the
extension of the productivity and collaboration capabilities of SharePoint
Portal Server (SPS) to business partners and clients. This license enables
an unlimited number of non-employees to access the services and
functionality of an SPS server deployed as an Extranet or Internet site
without any technical limitations or restrictions. A non-employee is anyone
other than a person who performs work for you or any of your Affiliates as
an employee, independent contractor, agent, vendor, subsidiary or service
provider. |

Windows® 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Windows 2000
Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later. Customers only need Windows 2000 CALs when
they are using Windows 2000 Active Directory™ directory service
authentication or File, Print, Remote Access, and Terminal services. If a
customer is using Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0 domain authentication and has
existing Windows NT 4.0 CALs, they do not require an upgrade to Windows 2000
CALs. |
