Service Pack 2 et son Hotfix

Important Information :


Note: A hotfix for the indexing issue in SharePoint Portal Server Service
Pack 2 (SP2) is now available. If you have previously downloaded and
installed SP2, it is recommended that you download and apply this hotfix.
You will require either this hotfix or the updated SP2 to correct the issue.
Check back for SP2 availability information.

Background


On January 13, 2003, Microsoft released SP2 for SharePoint Portal Server
2001. Soon afterward, testing revealed a problem in the service pack.
Microsoft immediately discontinued service pack downloads while completing
required updates to SP2. The issue involved indexing, by which content on
the server is made searchable. In some cases, the indexing process was
incomplete, preventing portions of the content from being searchable.

Customers who have downloaded and installed SharePoint Portal Server SP2
should avoid performing indexing (also known as crawling) until they apply
the hotfix. Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) is available to provide
free assistance to customers affected by the indexing issue. To contact PSS,
