Installing MSDE For ASP.NET Web Matrix

Download and Run MSDE Installer. 

Download and run the SQL2KDeskSP3.exe file. Opening this file will start the MSDE installation wizard. 
 

Download MDSE Now! (70MB)

2     Connect to the database in ASP.NET Web Matrix.  

Click the Database icon in the Data window to connect to the database.  If you installed MSDE without creating a named instance, you can simply specify "localhost" as the server name. 

To connect to a named instance specify "(local)\myDb" as the server name, where "myDb" is the name of your MSDE instance.
